Maintenance Kits for Portable Generators

It’s just as important to maintain portable generators, as it is to maintain home standby units. Generac has maintenance kits to make this task easy. There are a few variations in what’s included depending on the model you have, but they are all similar.

Additional Maintenance Tips
 

Sold separately, the air filter needs to be changed as part of regular maintenance. Your portable generator should be maintained every 100 hours of use or once per year. In between yearly maintenance, you should run your generator every 30 days to keep the engine parts lubricated. You should also make sure the battery stays fully charged.
